i am about 15 blog posts behind. but yesterday was such an uplifting ‘artsy’ day for me that i just have to post about it. i needed this day. to be surrounded by the magic of art, to hang out with a fellow artist and friend and to just BE. not a mom. just an artist. (thanks BTW to my husband for his role in this lovely afternoon.)
the first stop on my abstraction day started off at the brand spankin’ new clyfford still museum on 12th and bannock. (don’t get me started about how excited i was to finally get to see denver’s newest addition to the art scene here…let alone this outstanding abstract expressionist.)
but i will say what a TRUE HONOR it is that DENVER was awarded this museum. many of these paintings have NEVER been seen and they are breathtaking…
ok–i will stop now.
second at a fun downtown graffiti wall.
i am elated when around color, movement, passionate art. it makes me feel alive.
third at a friend’s place who also happens to be a talented painter.
fourth looking at pure abstraction in the downtown landscape and skyline. and enjoying a nice stroll along the platte armed with an extra hot chai latte.
perfect day. perfect way to engulf my soul in art and magic.
