everywhere–some light, some dark and flowing, some thin and some thick. i think i my next life i’d like to have beautiful red flowing hair. just like my friend kari.
she is a person who is easy to admire. she never complains and always radiates with positiveness. she smiles–even through the tough times. i see her several times a day during drop off and pick up of our kids at school and i just enjoy being around her. i admire her faith, her strong marriage and her selflessness with friends and family (just to name a few things). and let me not omit the fact that she is the mother of FOUR kids: two boys and identical twin girls.
and did i mention that hair?
well i so enjoyed hanging out with and photographing her extended family who was here to celebrate the holidays together. we got to hike around a local red rock park in the warm late morning sun searching for the perfect light around each corner of the canyon. i so enjoyed being around the family and watching them interact together–coaching the kids for smiles, teasing younger siblings and just having fun that i think i could have taken pictures of them for several more hours.
time flies when i am with families like these. two hours zip by in what seems like just a few moments because we are out in the beautiful colorado weather and i am taking pictures–two of my very favorite things in life. and, for a bit i feel like part of the family. i like that best. here are some of my favorite images.
(wishing you all a happy and healthy new year and safe travels back to utah.)
