another favorite family…

this family was one of the very first i photographed several years ago when i started my family.  my friend here supported and encouraged me and my business over the years and i am so grateful. thank you my dear for your friendship, your referrals and  your confidence in me to be your family photographer year after year.

SO–

i wanted to post all of these images to showcase what a typical session with me consists of.  in order to do that i must list the things i want clients to understand about me.

#1.  i take TOO many pictures

#2.  i keep you longer that i say i am going to (sorry!).  this is especially true when the light is super yummy.  i will apologize ahead of time for the orgasmic sounds i make while snapping the shutter.  i just get WAY too excited when the light is yummy… and when i have a family in front of my camera.

#3.  i like for the session to be FUN.  not just a memory of me taking you around and taking pictures.  i want REAL smiles.  (and i’ve been known to do some super silly stuff to get them.  be forwarned.)  and i want you to look back at the images and remember our time together as fun-not posed or still (or painful.)

#4.  i will give you way too many images to choose from in your gallery for orders.  (i am truly working on that but i really have a tough time picking which images YOU will love.)  i’ve had clients and colleagues all comment on this fault.  trust me–i am aware of this being a problem.  bear with me!!

#5.  i use the frame WAY too much.  so feel free to tell me to keep it in the car if you are not a fan!!  i just love how it relaxes people.  and in this particular photoshoot the girls giggled for a LONG time because of the frame.  it was early, chilly and i am sure they were hungry–but they laughed and laughed when asked to hold it. so this time it really worked~!

#6.  i always use photo collages to display the photos from our session together.  i like repetition and i like watching what a second moment captured looks like posted to the first one.  it’s an artistic thing i guess.  i just like things together better.

#7.  after our photoshoot, i will probably want to be your friend.  i want to stay in touch with you–friend you on facebook and watch your family grow and enjoy life via the pictures and stories you post over the years.

#8.  i will want to photograph your family again.  and again.

#9.  so if any of this interests you–please drop me a line. i am currently booking from the second week of november but i really do only have limited spots available.  i’m looking forward to making memories for YOU next!

I’m one of the people who LOVE the frame and LOVE that you give me a lot of images to choose from and that you take your time with us! It is always a pleasure to have you photograph our family — so much better than a sterile studio where you get some kid who just got trained on a camera. You are a true ARTIST! Maybe one day I’ll learn to relax a little more:0).
