i have to get this off of my chest: i have never been camping (. whew–i feel better finally admitting that. and it’s even worse considering that we live in colorado and have had a tent, sleeping bags and all of the other stuff for over two years now sitting in the basement. every year it was one excuse or another and something more important always came up to take us away from our plan to head to the mountains.
and my husband was (understandably so) nervous about how the boys (and me–well, especially me –if you ask him) would actually do in a tent. he insisted that we ALL spend a night in the backyard in the text before traveling several hours to do so. he set up the stuff last summer and the three of them (and our dog) slept there. (i snuck out to go and watch a movie on the couch! hey–a nice glass of pinot noir was calling my name.)
because i bailed that night last summer… he was nervous about spending two nights in a tent with two boys, a dog and potentially fussy wife. but this year we (really I) just decided to do it (without really asking)!
and look at the fun we had. and the memories we created.
the stars at night were so so so so amazing that i can’t possible find words to describe them. all i know is that i sat around the campfire with my friends well into the early morning just staring up at them. it was like you could see every single one and that they were speaking just to me. i will never forget that night.
so-come on our camping trip with us. hope you enjoy the scenery as much as we did.
