i met jackson and his lovely family back in 2009 when he was just a baby. they bid on a session with me from a charity auction. i enjoyed hanging out with them back then so much that i think our session lasted well over two hours. turns out jackson’s mom studied photography and was herself an artist! she and dad were laid back, fun and open to my silly requests to place their baby in the grass, leaves and rocky terrain of the park we shot at then. nothing was off limits and i loved it!
since then we have kept in touch via email and facebook and i was so honored when mom said: ” i don’t want anyone else to take our family photos.!” so we set aside some time last week downtown for this “anytime photography” session–my favorite place to shoot and my favorite type of session (hands down). this time jackson was mobile and VERY active! we laughed as he tried to bolt away from us each time he saw that camera. i think i lost at least 2 pounds chasing him around and his mom and dad probably lost 5! thank goodness i have fast lenses!
the family was totally open to this rustic alley and we made it our own for the two hours we spent together. man this kiddo is fast! once we got him to chillax a bit by playing with some weeds and rocks we got some priceless family shots.
thanks again for trusting me to capture your precious family memories. i just HEART you guys and the love you have for your little man!
