just a sweet, sweet ‘boulder girl’

when this lovely gal and i first met for our session together we were walking along the trail in the park and i asked her:  “so tell me about YOU”.  she replied simply and powerfully:  “i am a boulder girl”.  nothing more was needed to be said.  i instantly knew her and knew our session would be a fantastic one.

it was so flattering that she said she ‘knew’ i was the photographer she wanted to work with upon seeing some of my images from her family and friends earlier in the year.  she felt drawn to my work and as soon as she described herself to me i knew i would be drawn to her as well.   and i was.  our time together was relaxing and interesting.  and the images were so easy to capture that i often wondered if i was actually working during our session or hanging out with a dear friend. (ironically she mentioned to me that she was born in 1992-the year i graduated from penn state. (boy did i feel old in that moment!)

i too LOVE boulder–having been drawn to it and its culture for years before i actually moved here.  and i was so excited to work with and capture the essence of (via my trusty nikon d700) of someone so sweet, comfortable in her own skin and bursting with intelligence, passion and direction.  trust me-this gal is going places.  i am so excited to sit back and watch over the years just where she ends up!

here are some of my favorite images from our session together.  thanks J for believing in me and my ability to capture you at this very special time in your life.
