foudue fairytales at the Melting Pot in littleton {denver event photography}

what an honor it was to attend and photograph this event (they also feature a superhero sunday alternating weekends throughout the summer.  although this weekend was the last time this will be offered again next summer) at The Melting Pot in Littleton.  so much fun and so many smiles–especially mine–during these theme lunches (complete with a terrifically talented face painter on site as well).  i honestly didn’t want leave.  the event featured princesses (many) as well as a cameo by prince charming, songs, dancing, tiaras, face painting, balloons, and even an autographed photo of all the performers) in addition to a yummy fondue lunch (and chocolate).

it was great to be able to collaborate with and .  nowadays there isn’t a lot to choose from when you are wanting a unique and memorable event to experience with your kiddos.   this is one to pre book for next summer for sure!  (there were even a few groups celebrating with a birthday party at the event–what a great idea!)

thank you to the  for trusting in me to capture this super fun event!  (be sure to check their page for up coming events as well!)

Soulmates in the Sun… {Denver Wedding Photographer}

the skies were threatening most of the afternoon leading up to the wedding…but i knew in my heart that the rain wouldn’t make it to the ground.  and despite the fair warning they gave, the skies cooperated.  but in the end it was soft and sweet light that hovered over the outdoor ceremony last month for these two SOULMATES.

“a soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks.  when we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we’re pretending to be.  each unveils the best part of the other.  no matter what else goes wrong around us, with that one person we’re safe in our own paradise.  our soulmate is someone who shares our deepest longings, our sense of direction.  when we’re two balloons, and together our direction is up, chances are we’ve found the right person.  our soulmate is the one who makes life come to life.”  -richard bach

(and HERE is a link to the blog about our engagement shoot.)

i loved that this wedding venue had a wall of locks to represent those who had gotten married there.  it was perfect for these two.

B thank you for your service to our country as a US Marine, and M I’m looking forward to hearing about all the lives you make a difference with in your career as a nurse. thank you both for allowing me to capture your special day and to be part of the festivities.  wishing you a lifetime of happiness.

Amazing landscape photos with the family. Love the photo journal you are creating for you and the boys. A treasure for sure.

All in the family… {Littleton family photography}

Setting up a family photography session is no doubt stressful.  Setting up a multi family photography session is multi stressful.  Coordinating everyone to gather at a time convenient to them (and the kids) at a location that works for everyone is just about impossible.  Handling the stress of what to wear and what to do…and dealing with those family members who, well, just HATE having their photo taken also can cause frustration.   Does all of this sound familiar?  Hell yeah it does.  (Even for me…every year I hire a photographer to do our family and I am the most stressed out of anyone…ironic isn’t it?).

i get it.

you get it.

but it in the end…the work is ALWAYS worth the effort.  when we gather it is a series of beautiful moments.  and it is always worthy of a professional photographer to handle the crowd and to let you relax and enjoy being part of your family.  my job is the make everyone at ease and feel comfortable (with me pointing a several cameras at them).  and i like to think i do it well.

this family was so fun to boss around (and i did).  they loved that they were all together in one state at their mom’s house in colorado. they also loved that we were able to get the session done quickly (rain was on the horizon).  and well–ok there was some red wine involved but hey nothing wrong with that!

i love these images.  and i love that the family trusted me to capture them all together.  the session was purchased as a gift certificate a few months ago as a birthday gift for mom.  the gift of timeless portraits….i can’t think of anything more valuable.

corporate soul photoshoot…{denver corporate photography}

corporate headshots=the new handshake where business is concerned. and linkedin is the corporate social media place to be these days!

biz cards seem to be trending out…and cool photo sessions like these are taking their place.

here’s some advice when behind the camera:

show you personality and your smile.

show your confidence.

showcase your personal style.

be willing to step outside of the studio for something different and more approachable.

have fun during your session (which you will always do with me!)

update your headshot regularly–once per year as a rule of thumb or for a career change.

let’s set up a session.  we can even do a happy hour session where your group gets to have a drink (to two) and we have a mini photo session in between sips!

what an honor and a blast it was working with these two!  thanks for trusting me to capture your “corporate souls”!
