rose and her boys 2011 version…

…not to be confused with: 2010’s photo shoot.

i love being around rose and her family.  a feeling of love and sweetness follows when you enter their beautiful  home.  this year a practice turkey was cooking in the oven, the fireplace was lit and this adorable new member of their family named jake greeted me with a sniff and a lick.  this was the THIRD year i’ve been invited to photograph the family.  i feel so honored to do it every fall.

this year the oldest son has grown and changed so much.  he’s a young man now for sure.  you can see youth and passion in his eyes and a twinkle of excitement for what the future surely holds.  i know he is not as excited for the annual photo shoot but i am so glad he was so open to it by offering genuine smiles for the time we were together.

jake is the perfect addition to the family and rounds out the number of boys in rose’s life to 4 now.  he’s friends, happy, fun and full of energy just like the other three.

my favorite part about our session together was that after we got some family shots the boys wanted to change into clothes that they felt most comfortable in.   those, pictured above, were my favorites.  {note:  jake did not change–but he did ask me to get a shot of him from is best side rather than having to look straight at the camera.  how could i deny such a request!!}

happy holidays guys.  it is always such a pleasure to show up as your photographer and your friend each fall.

and i will leave you with a quote right from rose herself:

Marybeth, who started out as our friend, has been able to capture my family in the most beautiful of ways.  She not only gives us this gift of a lasting memory we will be able to cherish for a lifetime, she does it with such style and grace making us feel as though we are the most important family in the world.  We were so excited to have a additional member to add to our photos this year (Jake, the Berner) and Marybeth got some shots of him which are priceless.  Even though my 14 year old didn’t want anything to do with all of this, he joined in for Marybeth!  Thank you for you!  It has been a blessing to know you and to have the opportunity to work with you in this way.
