studio strobe lighting workshop…

studio lights scare me. i avoid it because i just ADORE natural lip-smackingly yummy light–especially early afternoon and just before sunset. i always giggle when i hear people say: “i’ll shoot anything as long as it’s well-lit”. i couldn’t agree more. but for me landscapes and night exposures just don’t do the trick. i am a true portrait photographer all the way. capturing someone in good light in a sweet moment in their life makes my heart race.

i had the chance to challenge myself this weekend in the strobe intensive lighting workshop. we learned how to best utilize our flashes for indoor (studio) and outside (ambient light mixed with flash) photography. it is always exhilarating to push myself and interesting to see just how much there is to learn in this amazing and ever-changing field of ours.

and just have a look at these smokin’ hot models! it wasn’t hard to get great images of them. shout out to J and K for spending the day with us and sharing your beauty and talent.

a BIG thanks to illuminate workshops and my friend efrain cruz for a full day of technical, creative and soul fulfilling photography.
