the fisch tank…{denver family photographer}

i honestly don’t know why it’s taken me so long to get this blog post up….simply because i loved this session, i love this family and i love these images. (and i love that we used the session to celebrate the youngest’s 1st birthday!)

no excuse….i shot these images at the beginning of summer.

(truth be told i am exactly 11 blog posts behind…sigh.)

it’s a absolute honor to be called this family’s personal photographer. they call me without fail every summer and trust me to document their lives together.

and it’s such a fun session since we just go with whatever comes our way….no posing…no BS…just real stuff with this group. {and, fair warning–lots of images accompany this post…they all work to showcase the love within this amazing family.}

they’ve got some fun personalities in the group…and even a birthday boy complete with his very first smash cake and first documented steps on his own!

jenny and matt are two of the most amazing parents i know. they are raising creative, funny and genuinely happy children. and they embrace their life with laughter and love.

“accept the gift as if it were one you’d chosen” is their motto and, from what i see, they do just that each and every day regardless of the challenge.

the one-year-old, the newest addition to the family, he blends in with just the right amount of smiles and mischief. (man do these two make beautiful children!)

this year rather than venturing to a neighboring park we met at the family home. they wanted to document their time together there as they were packing up this summer to move into a different house…one that could accommodate their daughter better with wider doors, ramps and large enough rooms for all of the medical equipment that comes along with them.

they entered this house as a couple with no children and leave as a family of 6.

although i know they are sad to leave–i know the powerful memories that will soon engulf their lives at their new address!

i’m already excited for my invitation in next summer to capture more of their love and light. (oh and yeah–those fresh eggs i get as a perk after my visit!)

thanks J and M for your trust in me as an artist. thank you for reminding me of the power of love and the bond of family.
