THE most passionate family…

curious about this image? please read on…

i honestly have not had more fun during a photo shoot all year long than i did at this one. the family of 7 (and three furry friends) met me on a chilly colorado morning by my favorite white barn for what what to be two hours of pure laughter and smiles. this family has some characters–and fun ones at that. it hardly seemed like work: they posed themselves, laughed at one another and were genuinely happy to just be together (as they live all over the place these days). (and all sans their morning cuppa joe!) i so enjoyed their vibe that at times i felt like just one of the family. and i honestly didn’t want to leave their company–they brought so many smiles.

completely on their own they came up with the idea to do ‘passion’ photos in addition to the standard family ones. in these each family member posed with the thing that they are most passionate about–from dance to kitty rescue all the way to magic cards. as soon as they surrounded themselves with their passion–eyes lit up and everything lined up with the planets (and my camera) to expose themselves in a way i don’t usually see when i am photographing a family. they bared themselves literally (it was pretty darn chilly out) and figuratively. it was cool to see as an artist and as a mom myself. (i secretly hope that a family like this will write a book about positive parenting–how to successfully raise a fun-loving and faithful family in this crazy world.)

so thanks to YOU guys for making MY morning!  i so enjoyed meeting and photographing each and every one of you!  thanks too for sharing your passions, your smiles and your family connection with me and my camera!
