unplugged…a day in the life of our family…

my husband’s only request for his birthday was a day of being unplugged…so yesterday was the day.

my iphone and ipad were confiscated. the mouse and the keyboard were hidded and the tv was disconnected.

harsh–maybe. necessary–definitely.

we needed to re-connect as a family…

and we did just that. although i was allowed my camera for random shots here and there. i tried to keep from reaching it TOO much but the artist in me felt it necessary to document our special day at least somewhat. after all–this was our first attempt at a day of NO SCREENS and total togetherness.

we got crafty.

some of us hid from the camera…

we played.
and played.

no stress chess, money bags, pool

made valentines and went for a walk in the snow.

and pigged out on unhealthy food!

missing from the images are: went to church and some quick shopping.

This was wonderful MB.. we are all guilty of too much connectedness and it is so important to drop some of the electronics and get back to basics. Glad you were able to document it, though..they were beautiful images of your dear family enjoying their day together. Very creative and very loving..Happy Birthday and great gift to your husband!
